Alack, and alas, duty has called, so I will be unable to watch or blog about this week’s episode in a timely fashion—if at all. 😥
But that does not mean Your Friendly Neighborhood Muser is museless. For one thing, the word on the street is that Bachelor in Paradise IS BACK, BABY!! Yes, after a one-year hiatus, the Suits at ABC (sABCs) have announced the return of mayhem for sometime next year. BRING. IT. ON. (And please bring Maria from Joey’s Bachelor season, as if I needed to explain Maria is.)

But the real news is about Jenn. Not only are her guys hot (so I’m told), but she’s pretty hot herself. Her premiere won the ad revenue critical 18-49 demo ratings by a landslide. In terms of Bachelor Nation history, she accomplished something else that was very noteworthy. She became only the fifth Bachelorette in 21 seasons to have gained viewers from the prior season.
I knew you’d ask, so here is the list:
- Jillian Harris – whose body of work I am completely unfamiliar with
- My Girl Ali Fedotowsky (gained over Jillian)
- Andi Dorfman (gained over Desiree)
- Clare Crawley (gained over Hannah B)
- Jenn (gained over Charity)
All of the other Bachelorettes lost viewers from the prior season. That is stunning to me.
Some side musings on My Girl Ali Fedotowsky. I was not involved in Bachelor stuff when she was on. I learned of her from My Daughter Diandra (MDD) when Ali was the hostess of First Look, a show aired after Saturday Night Live. MDD told me I had to see this girl; she was on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, and I would like her. Indeed, I did. Eventually, through the magic of streaming, I saw her Bachelorette season. I liked her, then, too. I follow her on social media. I still like her now.
This is probably a wrap for the week. If I manage anything, it will likely be a brief and late recap.
Until the next time . . .
