A friend and long-time loyal blog follower recently sent me a 30-Day Song Challenge meme in the hope that I couldn’t resist taking the challenge and blogging about it. Here’s Day #9 – A Song Title That Has Three Words: Adam Lambert, Marry the Night
That is correct. Adam Lambert. Not Lady Gaga.[1]
Everybody who knows me knows how much I love Adam Lambert. I also loved the show Glee, so I was very excited about Adam’s five-episode story arc in Season 5. I’m also a fan of Demi Lovato whose four episodes that season overlapped Adam’s. Win-win-win.
The biggest win came on Season 5, Episode 4 when Adam, in the role of “Starchild”, auditions for a role in Kurt’s as yet unnamed band by singing Lady Gaga’s Marry the Night. Who else besides Adam could out-Gaga Gaga for camp and glam while outperforming her on her own song? In the show, Kurt’s character was incredulously unimpressed but in real life he said that Adam’s vocal ability is a force of nature. Buckle your seat belts.
