Kelly. Carrie. And Jax?
While it’s quite premature to include Jax (3rd place, Season 14, 2014) among the Idol royalty, she is making her presence known in the pop world. In April I mentioned that she signed a record deal with Atlantic Records. That deal has already started paying off.
Jax is in regular rotation on the influential Sirius XM Hits 1[1] which plays the top current hitmakers like Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande. And now Jax’s song 90s Kids is keeping company with them. She also has TWO songs streaming on Apple’s A-list pop playlist: 90s Kids and her new single Like My Father.
Jax recently crossed 5 million followers on TikTok and her inclusion on several key Spotify playlists has her closing in on a million monthly Spotify followers.
Now let’s talk about Casey Bishop, the teenage sensation of this past season of Idol. For a recent concert in her hometown of Fort Myers, FL, Idol made the very unusual post-season move of sending their band and stage/lighting/audio production team. Not sure what that means for her future but that’s a lot of money spent on Casey after the season has ended.
Finding success after any of the contest shows is hard to come by. After six years, Jax is experiencing some and in the immediate aftermath of her season, Casey got quite a boost from the Idol team. It will interesting watching how their careers progress.
